I have a teenage daughter who sometimes sends me a text message, but when reading it, I have to call her to explain me what she is writing, because I really don't understand the 'language' and abbreviations they are using. Another related sad trend is the email culture at my office. I got daily spammed with so many CC emails (including large attachments), that I created a rule that I only will read emails which are send to me using the 'TO'. Even colleagues that have their desk about 20 feet away send emails to me, and when they do I ask "why don't you just 'talk' to me?" And I have colleagues that send emails and then walk into my office and ask "did you read my email"? Am I at the wrong planet or are they?
